Dr. Antonio Bertelli is a distinguished head and neck surgeon based in São Paulo, with a strong educational role as an Instructor Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo. He is known for his dedication to teaching medical students at one of Brazil’s most prestigious medical schools.
In his clinical role, Dr. Bertelli serves as an Assistant Physician at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo, where he has been a steadfast presence since completing his residency. There, he not only provides care to patients but also oversees the training of surgical residents.
His leadership extends to his position as a team leader at both Hospital Samaritano Higienópolis and Hospital Paulistano. Dr. Bertelli’s expertise is recognized nationally, as evidenced by his active membership in the Brazilian College of Surgeons and the Brazilian Society of Head and Neck Surgery, where he has been involved in organizing professional courses and symposiums.
Internationally, he is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Head and Neck Society. His contributions to the field are further marked by his involvement with the Latin American Thyroid Society, where he collaborates with peers to set standards for thyroid surgery.
Dr. Bertelli has also held significant positions as the former president of both the Head and Neck Surgery Department of the São Paulo Medical Association and the Latin American Federation of Head and Neck Surgery Societies. Currently, he is the General Secretary of the Brazilian Society of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery and a proctor and instructor in robotic surgery, showcasing his commitment to advancing surgical techniques and education.
