Common questions

My doctor recommended surgery. What should I do first?
Don't commit to anything permanent before getting a second opinion from a specialist who performs thermal ablation. In the US, that can take months through normal referral channels — RFAMD specialists are available remotely, often within the same week. They'll give you an honest clinical assessment of whether ablation is an option for your case. If it isn't, you'll know that too, and can proceed with confidence.
What if there's no specialist near me?
This is exactly what remote consultations solve. RFAMD specialists can review your case remotely and advise on next steps — no geographic barrier. Many patients start with a consultation, understand their options, then decide whether to travel for treatment.
Is there a fee for help finding a specialist?
No. Helping you navigate your options is free. Fees only apply to actual doctor consultations — booked directly through the platform at €300, set in the doctor’s own currency.
Should I include my medical records in the contact form?
No. RFAMD does not need and should not receive medical records, imaging, or lab results through this form. Keep your message brief and general. Your doctor will request clinical details directly from you during the consultation call.
How does a video consultation work?
You book a 15–20 minute call with a thyroid ablation specialist. Bring your diagnosis and any imaging you've had. The doctor reviews your case, tells you honestly whether ablation is an option for your specific situation, and provides a written summary after the call. The consultation fee may be credited toward treatment if you proceed with the same doctor.
Can RFAMD give me medical advice?
No. RFAMD is a patient education and specialist navigation resource, not a medical provider. Medical guidance comes from the qualified specialists you connect with through our platform — not from RFAMD itself.
