Dr. Dawn L. Anderson
Dr. Anderson accomplished her MD and BSc(Med) undergraduate research degree at the University of Manitoba. She subsequently relocated to the University of British Columbia for a General Surgical Residency and devoted five years to serving underserviced rural communities in BC. Her journey led her to Montreal, where she secured a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at McGill University, later accepting a role as an Assistant Professor in McGill’s Departments of Surgery and Oncology.
At St. Mary’s Hospital, Dr. Anderson centers her clinical work on the detection and treatment of Breast and Thyroid cancer, underscoring the importance of a collaborative approach with Medical and Surgical Oncology colleagues and actively enrolling patients in Clinical Trials. Beyond her clinical work, she demonstrates a strong commitment to Resident education, serving as the CTU Director at St. Mary’s Hospital and holding positions on the Residency Program Committees for both General Surgery and Surgical Oncology.
