MINIMALLY-INVASIVE TREATMENTS OF THE THYROID: 2023 STATE OF ART IN EUROPE

Minimally Invasive Thyroid Treatments (MITT) have been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for benign and malignant thyroid nodules, and are increasingly applied in the clinical practice all over Europe.
The MITT group has been founded in 2018 in Italy to promote multidisciplinary partnership among physicians with different expertise who share the interest in MITT and to improve the clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic management of benign and malignant thyroid and parathyroid glands diseases.
During the meeting “Minimally Invasive Thyroid Treatments: 2023 state of the Art in Europe”, expert from all over Europe will share their experience in the application of MITT in patients with benign and malignant thyroid lesions. Present guidelines on the topic will be illustrated, and the state of MITT in the different European countries will be presented.
Furthermore, the present status of the application of different available techniques will be presented, with a special focus on new developments and future perspectives attended for each technique.
On the second day of the meeting, some “hot topics” will be discussed, including the problem of regrowth for benign thyroid nodules, the application of advanced imaging modalities to improve the clinical results, and some critical clinical scenarios like the treatment of microcarcinomas, nodal metastases and parathyroid adenomas.
Before concluding the meeting, a series of real-life clinical cases will be presented and discussed between the expert panel and the participants.
