About the Meeting

The purpose of Endocrine Tumors and Disorders: Current and Emerging Concepts in Endocrinology is to provide a comprehensive review of current and emerging endocrinology topics. The sessions will focus on key endocrinology topics in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands with an emphasis in thyroid cancer, autoimmune thyroid disease, molecular diagnosis, hypercortisolism, adrenal tumors, osteoporosis, and hyperparathyroidism.

At the end of each session, highly interactive panel discussions and interesting case presentations will promote a high-level dialogue between the faculty and audience.

The course includes an optional cadaver lab providing a hands-on training of relatively novel techniques in radiofrequency ablation (RFA).

Optional RFA Cadaver Session (NON-CME Session • Limited Registration)

An optional cadaver lab session will take place immediately following the didactic course. The lab will provide hands-on training of relatively novel techniques in radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of thyroid lesions.

This session emphasizes current trends and techniques in radiofrequency ablation for benign and malignant thyroid tumors. Expert faculty provide detailed instruction and tips for performing successful radiofrequency ablation of thyroid lesions.

Target Audience

This CME course is intended for endocrinologists, primary care physicians, endocrine surgeons, head and neck surgeons, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals.

Educational Objectives

Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

  • Describe the principles of novel medical and surgical treatment options in endocrinology as related to the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.
  • Discuss the standard of care for thyroid cancer including molecular testing and personalized care for advanced thyroid disease.
  • Discuss the expanding role of the endocrinologist and surgeon in cortical and medullary adrenal tumors.
  • Describe the novel concepts in osteoporosis management.
  • Discuss the expanding role of radio-frequency ablation technique in thyroid disease.
  • The optional RFA Ablation Session will allow participants to both observe and participate in hands on exploration of ultrasound technology and RFA as it relates to treatment of Thyroid tumors.
  • No special educational preparation is required for this CME activity.
